Can I use female condoms and male condoms at the same time?

Female condoms and male condoms appear to look different but they work in a similar manner in preventing STDs and unplanned pregnancies. Condoms provide safety and protection by preventing the exchange of body fluids. For a condom to work effectively, it is to be used as per the instructions provided correctly. Do not use a female condom with a male condom as one of them might break or slip making the condoms ineffective.

Disadvantages of using male and female condoms together

Female condoms and male condoms are not advised to use together which may lead to condom breakage or sticking together. Due to the friction caused condoms might slip or tear which may lead to an accidental pregnancy. Only one of the partners should use a condom which provides equal protection to both during intercourse. Though male condoms are more effective when compared to female condoms, both of them provide great safety and protection when used rightly and consistently.
